Locally produced videos paint a picture of how NextStep serves survivors
Through the generosity of Darling’s Chevrolet in Ellsworth, visitors to nextstepdvproject.org can now view a series of short videos that feature NextStep staff sharing insights into the services that are provided to survivors of domestic violence.
“We are grateful to Darling’s for sponsoring this effort,” said Dorathy Martel, NextStep’s Executive Director. “These videos gave several staff members, who represent all of us, a chance to share what we do in such a way that we hope victims and family members are encouraged to reach out for assistance; that they will see we are real people who care, that we have needed resources, and that we really understand what victims of domestic violence are going through.”
Lorilei Porter, Darling’s Marketing Manager, said, “Darling’s commitment to support the communities in which we live and work is important to our employees, and to our customers. It was decided we could best support NextStep’s mission by funding a video campaign consisting of PSAs and staff videos. We are so pleased to be able to support them in this way. Darling’s is grateful to all of the staff at this non-profit who work tirelessly to help break the cycle of people dealing with domestic violence.”
The videos may be found throughout the website, aligned on pages that best fit the topics discussed, and they may also be viewed in a gallery.
“Darling’s Chevrolet contracted with Dave Gordon Media to produce the videos,” said Susan Jonason, NextStep Community Engagement Associate. “Dave’s expertise and guidance allowed each of the speakers to express themselves in an unscripted manner, which allowed them to speak from their hearts about what we do.”
